Is Your Trust in Yourself or God?

There are so many different voices, prophesies and doctrines being taught about the will of God and being heard now more than ever before.  How do you know which one is the true Word from God Almighty?  The Apostle Paul tells us "that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting" (Ephesians 4:14).

First you do have to check it out with the Word of God to see if it lines up with the Bible.  When the Lord Jesus spoke to me He said the way to always know if it is a true word, movement or doctrine from God is see who is getting the Glory.  If a man is receiving the glory then it is not from God.  If Jesus Christ is getting the full glory then you know the Word is from Him.  There are many books being sold with new revelations and formulas to move and live in the power of God.  God’s Word has never changed and it will never change.  There are no quick, easy formulas.  All you have to do is keep your eyes and heart on the Lord Jesus Christ.  "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever" (Hebrews 13:8).

Then the next step is to check what fruit is being produced by that doctrine or teaching.  If it is from God it will lift up the Lord Jesus Christ to all the world to see.  Then it will bring abundant fruit, joy and prosperity to the body of Christ.   "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning" (James 1:17).  When you fix your eyes and heart on the Lord Jesus Christ and off of the foolish prophesies and the new questionable moves of God that never bear anything but a empty wallet and a troubled devastated heart.  You will always have the victory abiding in and with Jesus Christ.  When you spend intimate time with Jesus in prayer and fellowship you will have His Spirit of truth to stand guard before you and you will know the truth that sets you free.

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.

(2 Timothy 4:3-4)

These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.

Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world; our faith.
